Chattanooga Choo Choo - 1400 Market St., Chattanooga, TN 37402

Bandleader Glenn Miller and his orchestra immortalized the city in the iconic song, "Chattanooga Choo Choo." Inspired by the tune, a group of local businessmen transformed the former Terminal Station into Chattanooga Choo Choo, a 24-acre hospitality and entertainment complex. Hotel guests can stay in an authentic railway room, while all visitors may tour the grounds, including the Glenn Miller Gardens, free of charge.

Ross's Landing - 100 Riverfront Pkwy., Chattanooga, TN 37402

Ross's Landing, a stunning riverfront park renovated in 2005, commemorates John Ross, leader of the Cherokee Nation. Features include a river pier, marina, and natural amphitheater. Stroll along the Passage and view artwork depicting stories of the Cherokee Nation. You can also connect to the Riverwalk, a 13-mile path that extends from the Chickamauga Dam to downtown.

Bluff View Art District - 411 E. 2nd St., Chattanooga, TN 37403

Bluff View Art District should be located in an area where the scenery is as eye-catching as the works of art themselves. Bluff View was originally the home of the wealthier residents of Chattanooga, dubbed "cliff dwellers." Today the district is family-owned and operated as a European-style neighborhood with art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants. Don't miss the River Gallery Sculpture Garden, listed in the Smithsonian Institution's Archives of American Gardens.

Architectural Districts

Chattanooga has so many distinctive buildings that it has not one but four architectural, historic districts, including some amazing Chattanooga homes for sale. Battery Place lines the bluff above the Tennessee River, and Ferger Place shows the influence of the Industrial Revolution. Fort Wood served as a Civil War stronghold, and St. Elmo is nestled at the foot of Lookout Mountain.
