The Chambliss Center for Children provides 24/7 childcare and early education services to single-parent and low-income families. Established 143 years ago, the Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults is one of the area's most comprehensive human services agencies. They provide crisis intervention and prevention services and counseling. Last year, the organization served more than 26,000 people. They're always accepting monetary donations and have an Amazon Wish List for those who prefer to donate items directly. There are also opportunities to volunteer for their youth programs, elder services, victim support services, and more.
5. Northside Neighborhood House: P.O. Box 4086, Chattanooga, TN 37405
An organization that believes in giving a hand-up, rather than a hand-out, Northside Neighborhood House provides education and assistance to residents north of the river. The organization provides assistance with food, prescriptions, and utility bills, as well as holiday meals and toys. Other services include summer tutoring and enrichment programs, after-school programs, high school equivalency education, and enrichment programs for adults and seniors. They also operate a thrift store, which provides clothing, furniture, and other needed items to residents at a minimal cost.
